What is the difference between auto transmission and manual transmission in Car ? which type will better to buy?
Have you ever confused between which transmission system will better for your drive, what to choose between auto transmission or manual transmission? Well, today we are going to tell you a complete description of auto transmission and manual transmission, How they work? what effect they put on engine or efficiency? And which one is better for different car drives.First, off all let's take some knowledge about car transmission system.
A car transmission system basically provides us with different speed variations with the different gear change, how it works?.
Let's understand the basic science behind this, an internal combustion engine produces useful
torque and power only during a certain speed range due to this inherent problem of ic engine
controlling the drive speed by directly connected them to the engine is not a good idea, such an
the approach will give an engine a very low-efficiency that's why we need a transmission system between engine and wheels, that will help engine rpm always be in a maximum speed range.
The transmission carries the speed variations with the drive wheels. Let's see how it work in the manual transmission system.
The manual transmission is a collection of gear pairs it is basically divided into three sections:-
- Input, where the power comes from.
- The intermediate shaft which connects input power From engine to gear shaft or output shaft.
- Output, output gearing system which connects with the wheel arrangement.
Input is connected with the intermediate shaft so that intermediate shaft always rotate at constant
speed. The intermediate shaft connected to the output shaft, where output shaft is not directly fit with
the output gear, here we use hub and sleeve which make the connection between output shaft and gear so that output shaft can rotate and gears connected with the intermediate shaft to provide continues the motion to the gears.
But there is a variation between the rotation of hub and gear which leads loss of motion and sudden rotation can lead to wear and tear, here we use synchronizer mesh which connected between hub and gear of output shaft. Main gear shaft has the synchronize cone teeth arrangement.
But before we change the gear to obtain different speed we have to cut the input power comes from engine here we use a clutch mechanism which disengages the input shaft with the rotating intermediate gear by this we can easily change our gear.
In Automatic Transmission we use the planetary motion of gears to achieve different speeds, This technique overcomes the discontinuation problem in the manual transmission.
In this transmission system, there is two input unit and one output unit, very two input speed you will get different output speed.

Conclusion:
So which one is better to buy, well this all depends on your gear preference lets distinguish between them:
1. In an automatic transmission, there is no abruption of power flow you will get a smooth experience
whereas in manual transmission no smooth experience.
2. In an automatic transmission, low reparability may cost very high if damaged, whereas in the manual transmission is easier to repair the gear system.
3. There is no clutch only torque converter is used in automatic transmission whereas in manual
transmission clutch is used over 80% of truck nowadays use a manual transmission.
4. In an automatic transmission, torque generates heat which reduces the efficiency of the vehicle that’s why it is less fuel efficient but modern torque converter overcome this problem. In a manual transmission, braking is better by the use of the clutch.
So here is the complete analysis I gave u now its depend on you which one to choose but in my opinion, I will go with manual transmission rest is depends on you.
